Annual District Birth Extract (ADBE)

The Annual District Birth Extract (ADBE) comprises all live and stillbirths registered in Wales between 1996 and 2018. These data are obtained from the Office for National Statistics and are derived from information collected during civil registration, which is a legal requirement. They include information about place of birth, birth weight and place of birth of parents. The dataset is at an individual level comprising of approximately 35,000 births per year spanning the years 2003 to present.
